Public safety is one of government's most fundamental responsibilities. Kirk believes the men and women who protect Utah communities deserve the resources, training, information, and support they need to do their jobs.
As a member of the Senate Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee, Kirk works directly on the policies affecting Utah's police officers, prosecutors, courts, corrections system, victims, and communities.
Kirk has supported efforts to improve the information available to public-safety professionals and policymakers, strengthen coordination across Utah's criminal justice system, and make government more accountable for the results our public-safety system delivers.
He also believes public safety means standing with victims. Utah's justice system should protect the innocent, hold offenders accountable, and give law enforcement the tools necessary to respond to crime effectively.
Kirk believes we can support law enforcement while demanding transparency, accountability, and smart policies that keep Utah one of the safest places in America to live and raise a family.
